Day 1
Cobá & Tulum — Jungle Metropolis & Caribbean Stronghold
Begin with two of the most impressive sites in northern Yucatán. Explore the vast jungle city of Cobá, climb the towering Nohoch Mul pyramid, and ride bicycles along ancient sacbeob. Then travel to dramatic clifftop Tulum overlooking the turquoise Caribbean. LDS guides highlight engineering brilliance, trade networks, and spiritual symbols echoing Book of Mormon descriptions of prosperous lands. Includes expert guiding, lunch, cenote swim.
Day 2
Chacchoben & Bacalar — Place of Red Corn & Lagoon of Seven Colors
Travel south to the peaceful jungle site of Chacchoben, occupied since around 1000 BC, featuring towering pyramids still showing traces of original red paint. In the afternoon, reach the magical Lagoon of Seven Colors at Bacalar — cruise its shifting turquoise, emerald, and sapphire waters, visit underwater cenotes, and swim in one of Mexico's most beautiful natural wonders. Includes expert guiding, lunch, lagoon boat tour and swimming.
Day 3
Dzibanché & Kinichná — Cradle of the Snake Dynasty
An early 5:30 AM departure takes you to one of the most academically significant regions in the Maya world. Dzibanché — birthplace of the powerful Kaanu'l (Snake) Dynasty — offers monumental architecture, royal tombs, and evidence of early influence. Many researchers see parallels to the Book of Mormon's Land of Bountiful. Continue to the connected site of Kinichná and climb its impressive 35-meter acropolis for panoramic jungle views. Includes expert guiding, lunch, cenote swim.
Day 4
Xpuhil & Becan — Rio Bec Fortresses of the Jungle
Venture deeper into Campeche's Rio Bec region for two extraordinary sites. Xpuhil features striking Rio Bec architecture with iconic false towers and elaborate façades. Nearby Becan stands out with its massive defensive moat — one of the most fortified Maya cities ever discovered. These sites reveal stories of warfare, alliances, and resilience that connect the archaeological record to patterns in the Book of Mormon. Includes expert guiding, lunch, cenote or natural swimming.
Day 5
Kohunlich & Return — Temple of the Masks & Sacred Reflections
Explore the majestic Kohunlich, famous for its extraordinary Temple of the Masks — massive stucco solar deities rising dramatically from the jungle. This Early Classic site (founded around 500 AD) showcases sophisticated water management, elite residences, and powerful iconography. After a morning of exploration and testimony-building discussion, begin the return journey with time for reflection on the week's experiences. Includes expert guiding, lunch, chocolate museum experience.
