Step back in time during your tour of Coba and the surrounding jungle

Coba is by far the most exciting set of Maya ruins in the northern Yucatan Peninsula, and our LDS guides make of your day the most memorable experience for your friends and family. Coba is also known for having the tallest temple in the Yucatan Peninsula. It is a place where nature and the historical remains of a great civilization blend together harmoniously. It’s famous for its many sacbeob (Maya roads) and original Mayan writing.

With their extensive experience, our professional LDS guides take you back into the past of this marvelous city in ruins, while the great works of this highly advanced civilization bring you back to the present. After completing an unforgettable bicycle tour through the ruins of these enormous structures, you don’t want to miss lunch on this trip. We have prepared a delicious midday meal featuring typical Yucatecan food: oven-roasted pork and fish, lime broth, chicken and beef fajitas, Yucatan-style marinated chicken, juice, water, and soft drinks.

Contrary to what many people think, the Maya have not disappeared; in fact, many modern Maya descendants still live in the Yucatan Peninsula. A brief stop in an authentic Maya pueblo helps you understand their true lifestyle, traditions, and language as you admire the beauty of their handicrafts.

But the best is yet to come! The Maya tropical forest has many secrets to share, so we trek inside the jungle to witness the grandeur of the Maya culture and its imposing buildings long abandoned to the forest and as yet unexplored by archeologists and Maya scholars. You are sure to be amazed by the incredible birds and the large groups of spider and howler monkeys. Join our team on a fun expedition and rappel down to an underground cenote with 119 human skulls at its bottom. Do you dare?

Finally, you don’t want to pass up the exciting opportunity to move quickly along as you zipline from the tops of the trees to the edge of a beautiful lagoon, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the jungle and nature at its best. Without a doubt, this is a spectacular end to an unforgettable day.
